Five More Seconds
Five more seconds. Hold on for five more seconds. To the barbell; when it feels heavy. To the rings; when my grip is slipping. To the pace; when the momentum wants to slow. To racing no one. Or everyone. To the belief that I can do this even on the hardest of days. Hold on a little longer. Don’t. Let. Go. For anything. So I hold on for five more seconds. At least, I try.
Five more seconds. Hold on for five more seconds. To their hand; when they want me to let go. To my patience; when chaos breaks loose and no one seems hear me. To my strength; when the nights are long and the mornings come quick. To the moments. With them. To the belief that I can do this even on the hardest of days. Hold on a little longer. Don't. Let. Go. For anything. So I hold on for five more seconds. At least, I try.
